A big thank you from MGC to the Clubgolf Team for 2011.
These folks give up their time for formal training and certification, to introduce kids to the great game.
Clubgolf is a government initiative to introduce all children to the game of golf by the age of 10. The programme consists of three stages dependent on the skill level and experience of the individual.
Stage One is a 2-year course designed to introduce the children to the sport and to learn skills such as putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. The etiquette of the game is also incorporated throughout the sessions and provides a natural progression to further stages of Clubgolf and onto the golf course.
Stage two targets children who have a reasonable amount of on course experience and who play the game regularly. This further develops the skills learnt in Stage one but also introduces the player to course management, pre-shot routine and shot shaping.
Milngavie Golf Club offers the clubgolf experience in a manner which is safe, fun and productive for all involved. The programme allows each child to meet new friends, which will naturally become their golfing partner/opponent.
