Greenlees Amazing Success Continues!

Here's a wee report/ headline-breaking news for you and the Club.

The Greenlees team from Milngavie have once again shown amazing spirit, skill and a will to win right through the season. But matters came to real nail-biting climax on Monday, Spetember 20th in our final match against Troon. We knew we needed 7 points in order to pip Cathkin Braes for the title -again (as there had been the same scenario last year. )

 Young Nichola led out the team and claimed a fighting half in the top tie - we are so lucky to have such a talent at our Club.

Superb wins, under pressure, for Anna, Lois, Jill, Katy, Davina and Jackie followed , leaving us with half a point needed for victory.  Marion came to the 18th tee one down, but brave little fighter that she is, she won the hole and halved her game to clinch the winning point. Susanne also halved her match on the 18th so we emerged victorious with half a point to spare - cue celebrations!!!!

 I cannot tell you how delighted I am and how proud I am. This is a great achievement - really. To be the top Club in the West of Scotlad - TWO YEARS RUNNING - amazing.

 The team has been awesome. And it has been a real team effort. I'd like to thank each and every player and reserve for their contribution. Special mention here must go to Lois who actually delayed her holiday by one day in order to play in the last match!!

 There will definitely be a celebration dinner this year and then........... ROLL ON 2011 !!!
