Sensational Performance by Greenlees Team

The Ladies Greenlees team won their last match - v Kilmacolm and so are Division 1 Champions. (This is the Scratch League for the West of Scotland, so is the "cream of the crop"!!!!

And what a superb TEAM effort it has been.
 
I have "done the Math". Kilmarnock Barassie would have had to defeat Kilmacolm (away) by 9 - 0 in order to beat us, and it didn't happen! By the time you read this I will be sunning myself in Portugal.
 
Yesterday was pretty nail-biting right to the finish and Lorraine (henceforth to be known as Sam/Paul/Monty) finally claimed the final point that sealed a 7-2 win. I know I put pressure on you all but just as I knew you would, you all rose to the occasion magnificently. Truth be told, I was shaking for the 1st couple of holes myself!
Special mention must go to Claire who not only strapped up a badly swollen ankle to even play, but then went and sank a putt on the 18th for a birdie and a 1 hole win!!
Also Jackie ("nerves of steel") Sillars who was 2 down on the 15th tee and proceeded to win the last 4 holes to win 2 up.
 
Thank you to one and all - whether you won, lost or drew - whether you played or stood as a reserve - you all played your part.
 
Season's Special Moment
Davina having "car trouble" !!!!!! on the way to Troon - she literally runs on to the tee and proceeds to beat a former Scottish Champion.

Young Nichola who has led the team out from the front and grown in stature and ability.
Katy who has a 100% record for the season.
(One player who played in ALL the matches and gained the same number of points as Katy)
Lois, Davina, Moira and Sheena for taking time off work and making a HUGE difference
