The ladies play in a number of club competitions throughout the year. Details of the competitions are as follows:-

• Monthly Medal and 9 Hole Medal (April – Sept): Handicap Stroke Play
• Autumn Meeting: Handicap Stroke Play
• Balcomie Gamble Teams of 3: Handicap Stroke Play – Nett score of one player will count at each hole and each player contributes 6 scores to the round. Identify which score will count before teeing off at next hole.
• B.Mitchell Trophy: Handicap Stroke Play
• Braid Salver: Handicap Stroke Play – Lowest combined nett score returned in the 2 rounds of the Eclectic Comp played by Silver Players
• Britannia Salvers: Handicap Stroke Play – Lowest nett score in each of the Silver and Bronze Divisions on Gala Day
• Byiers Plate: Handicap Match Play – Players knocked out in the 1st or preliminary round of the Ladies Cup will be entered into the Plate Comp.
• Children 1st 3 ball-better -ball: Handicap Stroke Play Charity Comp. –Nominal entry fee. Best nett score from the team is recorded at each hole
• Committee Trophy: Stableford Comp. Open to Ladies involved in assisting Committee work at the club.
• Coronation Foursomes (alternate drives) Players arrange own playing times on allocated day.
• Diamond Fourball: Team of 2, played as a better ball competition. Aim to have one player aged over 65 years of age and one under. Try to balance the ages of teams. Teams are pre-drawn.
• Dumgoyne Rose Bowl Mixed Foursomes Handicap Match Play
• Eclectic: 2 Round Handicap Stroke Play – Best nett score at each hole is calculated. Handicap at beginning of comp. is used to calculate the winner.
• Flag Competition: Handicap Stroke Play – Each player is allocated strokes (course SSS plus handicap) then plays course until stroke allocation runs out. The flag is placed at this spot on the course.
• 4-Club competition: Handicap Stroke Play – 3 clubs and a putter. Non qualifying competition for handicap purposes.
• Gala Day: Stableford Competition – Prize Giving following the competition
• Howat Salver: Mixed Foursomes Competition
• Jane A Brash Trophy: Handicap Stroke Play
• Milngavie Cup (Ladies Club Championship): Match Play 7 lowest scratch aggregates from any two of the four qualifying rounds, plus the current holder, qualify for the knock-out stages
• Ladies Cup: Singles Handicap Match Play
• McCartney Quaich: Four ball better ball Match Play
• McDonald Trophy:The best score returned by a member over 70 years of age.
• Mulligans Choice: Handicap stroke play competition where a player is allowed 4 mulligans over the 18 holes. (2 can be taken on the first nine and 2 on the second nine). If a player decides not to use their mulligans the number of unused mulligans will be taken off the nett score at the end of the round. Non qualifying competition for handicap purposes. Declare you are taking a mulligan immediately after playing the shot that you want to take again. You cannot, for example, hit a ball, discover its lost and then go back and play the shot again.
• Par Competition: Handicap Stroke Play Competition – + 1 if player’s score is better than par, 0 if par is scored and – 1 if more that par
• Phillips Trophy: Lowest combined Nett score returned in the Spring and Autumn Meetings
• Red Cross: Stroke Play Ringer (April – September) Scores from 1st card recorded on board. Scores may then be changed any number of times – no limit – 20p per hole. Handicap at beginning is used to calculate the winner
• Russell Plate: Handicap Stroke Play – Lowest combined Nett score returned in the 2 rounds at the Eclectic Competition by Bronze Division players
• 77 Salver: Greensome Stroke Play
• Spring Meeting: Handicap Stroke Play
• Triam: Handicap Stroke Play, Teams of 3. Best nett score at each hole is recorded
• Teggart Rose Bowl: Handicap Stroke Play – The lowest 16 combined Nett scores and those tying for 16th place from Silver and Bronze players in any of the two of the following three rounds – May Medal, SIMF and June Medal – will qualify to play the final 18 holes.
• Telfer Trophy: Stroke Play. The lowest 8 combined Scratch scores and those tying for 8th place from any two of the following rounds – June Medal, July Medal and August Medal – will qualify to play in the final 18 holes. Only the final 18 holes will count for the Championship.
• Texas Scramble: Teams of 3 – Six drives from each player must be selected.
• Veterans Cup: The lowest Nett score by a Member over 60 years on Gala Day
• Vicki MacAlister Quaich: Stroke Play The lowest gross score recorded in competition at Milngavie during the season.
• Winter Eclectic: Ongoing eclectic played in the winter months. The score at each hole may be changed as many times as you wish. Handicap at the beginning of the competition is used to calculate the winner.
